At the beginning of June, Goriška Brda will once again come alive with the Cherry Festival, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. On June 6 and 7, Dobrovo Castle will host a vibrant celebration of heritage, gastronomy, and the authentic Brda spirit.
The festival is a tribute to the people, nature, and traditions that have shaped life in Brda for decades. At its heart is the cherry – the queen of Brda’s orchards and a symbol of the deep connection to the land.
The event will begin with a traditional parade of ethnographic floats and continue among stalls offering local delicacies and handmade crafts. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste authentic Brda dishes, take part in the XXL cherry strudel spectacle, enjoy music and cultural performances, and explore creative activities for all generations.
In a relaxed and lively atmosphere, the central theme of the festival will be the Brda cherry – juicy, fragrant, and ready to be savoured.
