21th Traditional " Cherry to cherry hike"

Together with the experts on the Brda region, members of the Brda hiking association, walk among the Brda hills. Each year a new route will lead you through villages, vineyards and orchards full of cherries.

This year, the hike is on the very day of the festival, which celebrates its 60th edition. After the hike, participants can visit the events taking place in Dobrovo as part of the festival. The highlight will be the traditional parade of ethnographic floats in the Brda region (at 4:00 PM).

Date of the hike: Sunday, June 7th, 2026
Meeting point: Wine Cellar Brda in Dobrovo (bus parking is available in the cellar courtyard, car parking in the surrounding area)
Start time: between 8 AM and 9.30 AM
Route: northeastern part of the Brda region
Distance: 11.5 km
Duration: approx. 3.5 hours

Participation fee: 

• Adults €20
• children (8–14 years) €8
• younger children free (payment on the day of the event)

The fee includes the organization of the hike, two refreshment stops along the route, and a meal at the end.
t the first stop, you will be able to taste local cherries, olive oil, frtalja (traditional omelette), homemade pastries, and enjoy various drinks.
At the second stop, refreshing drinks will be provided, and at the finish you will be served pasta and beverages.

The hike is varied but not demanding; a basic level of fitness is sufficient, making it suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. The route follows roads and farm tracks. Proper hiking footwear is required.

Participation is at your own risk. Please follow traffic regulations.

Participants are kindly asked not to pick or damage cherry tree branches along the route.

For easier organization of the walk, participants are kindly asked to register in advance (no later than June 3, 2026) via email at pdbrda@pzs.si.

Individual participants should provide their name, surname, and place of residence, while groups should indicate the number of participants, place or association, and the name of the group leader.
