30th Heroes of the Vineyards Cycling Marathon

The Heroes of the Vineyards Cycling Marathon is a traditional sporting event organized by Klet Brda, taking place as part of the Cherry Festival.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, we will set off on this sporting experience for the 30th anniversary edition of the Heroes of the Vineyards Cycling Marathon.

From the very first kilometers, the event brings together a love for the beauty of the Brda hills, an active lifestyle in nature, and a tradition that connects generations.

This year, participants will once again ride to Brda for a good cause, as part of the proceeds from registration fees will be donated to support professional services for blind and visually impaired children, adolescents, and their families, provided by the Intermunicipal Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired Nova Gorica.

The recreational marathon route is 108 kilometres long. It starts at 8:30 in Ljubljana and leads through Vrhnika and Logatec, over Črni Vrh. There is a stop in Ajdovščina at Fructal, after which cyclists continue towards Nova Gorica, over Sabotin to Brda, where the marathon finishes at the organiser’s headquarters in Dobrovo at 13:30.

All cycling enthusiasts are warmly invited—whether on road bikes, mountain bikes, or electric bikes. The more of us there are, the more enjoyable it will be!

REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEES

Entry fees can be purchased online. From May 5, 2026, they will also be available at our wine shops in Dobrovo, Nova Gorica, Ljubljana, Kranj, and Celje. From that date, participants who have already purchased their entry fees online will also be able to collect them there.

ENTRY FEE FOR ADULTS: €35

ENTRY FEE FOR STUDENTS AND YOUTH: €25 (students with a valid ID and children up to 15 years of age)
