Murmuring Wave – Tartini and the Late Slovenian Baroque
The concert is dedicated to Gorizia and its Slovenian surroundings in the year of its celebration as European Capital of Culture. It presents a repertoire of Gorizian Baroque composers – rarely performed – as well as Slovenian ones.
By unveiling a lesser-known aspect of the city’s musical heritage and linking it to European musical traditions, the program also connects Gorizia to Piran in Slovenian Istria, birthplace of Baroque composer Giuseppe Tartini, whose music at times resonates with Balkan folk motifs.
