Exhibition: Zoran Mušič - Landscapes of the Bodies
01.09.2025 - 30.11.2025
Exhibition Zoran Mušič – Landscapes of the Bodies (Dobrovo Castle)
At Dobrovo Castle, the exhibition "Landscapes of the Bodies" by the world-renowned painter and graphic artist Zoran Mušič, born in Bukovica near Nova Gorica, is on display until 30 November.
"Speak of the Traveller. A painter’s whole life is a kind of journey." — Zoran Mušič
Zoran Mušič (1909–2005) is one of the most important European artists of the 20th century, internationally acclaimed for his paintings and graphics, whose work left a mark on Venice, Paris, and the broader art world.
This exhibition, part of the War and Peace program of GO! 2025, offers an in-depth look at Mušič’s oeuvre: from drawings created in Dachau (1945) and cycles such as Vegetative Motifs and We Are Not the Last, which powerfully reflect war, suffering, and death, to later works — self-portraits, images of Ida, The Doubles, The Traveller, The Philosopher, Seated, and Nude. In these works, the human body becomes fragile, almost ethereal, echoing the artist’s inner world.
Mušič survived Dachau — and from this experience, he created an extraordinary interplay of landscapes of the body and bodies of landscapes.
