Enjoy the weekend in the embrace of Brda nature, feel its authenticity and welcome the homeliness of the Brda people: market stands with local products, culinary delights, cultural and children’s program, feel the moments and taste sweet cherries ... Welcome to Brda ... Where we are all in love with nature ...

SATURDAY,  4th June

 “THE HEROES OF VINEYARDS”  CYCLING MARATHON (Ljubljana – Dobrovo, Brda) 

 (more than 100 cyclists) 

At 12.30 am welcome the cyclists along the route (Podsabotin, Hum, Kojsko, Šmartno, Zali breg, Dobrovo)

 Finish: 2pm

 ŠMARTNO & GONJAČE, 10 am to 7 pm

- Market stands with cherries and local products (Šmartno and Gonjače)

- Food and drinks offer (Šmartno and Gonjače)

- Cherry pastries made by the Brda Women’s and Girls’ Association (Šmartno)

- Children’s corner:  Face painting, art competition with awards (Šmartno and Gonjače)

- Indian village (1 to 6 pm) – making Indian feathers, dream catchers, Indian games and fight dances, fight colour painting, archery and bison hunting (only in Gonjače)

- Olive oil tasting (Šmartno)

- Art ex-tempore (Šmartno and Gonjače)

- Dablo Art Gallery (Šmartno)

- Presentation of Dobrovo Elementary School (Šmartno)

- Local craft workshops (making traditional rolls and Ivan’s garlands, crochet, basket exhibition) (Šmartno)

- TRADITIONAL PROCESSION WITH ETHNOLOGICAL CARTS (coat-of-arms, Cherry Queen and Rebula Wine Queen, Brda Wind Orchestra, Brda Women, ethnological carts presenting traditional customs in Brda)

- Cherry stands, hospitality offer, entertainment programme with live music (Juice Band)
