Snežeče

In the vicinity of Dobrovo, opposite the Drnovk village, lies the village of Snežeče. A castle stood here in the Middle Ages – its remains can be seen in the renovated Polenčič house where coat of arms of the barons of Conti can be seen. The church above the village has a simple front with a tympanum and an Aquileia-type bell tower. Initially, this was a chapel of Troillo counts who had a farm here. There is a story related to the church saying that a pregnant countess felt disgust towards a crippled man and chased him away, afterwards giving birth to a crippled child.
