Alpe Adria Trail

Each stage of the Alpe Adria Trail takes runs along interesting tourist areas with a rich cultural, natural and culinary tradition. The main theme is the richness of the waters along the trail: from the glaciers, rivers, waterfalls, springs, lakes to the sea. Its main purpose is the connection of the three lands and the three different cultures into one diverse experience.

In Slovenia, the Alpe Adria Trail runs along the path from the Japec mountain pass on the Slovenian Austrian border through Kranjska Gora, Tamar, Vršič and continues to the source of the river Soča, and then along the Soča trail to Bovec, along the left bank of the rive Soča all the way to Kobarid, Drežnica, Tolmin and across the border to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. In the village Neblo, the path again finds its way to the Slovenian part of Goriška Brda and passes through Dobrovo and then again crosses the border and goes through Cormons, the Karst and over the Slovenian hill Kokoš all the way to Lipica. From here it descends to Muggia and Trieste.
