KOPELNCA
|
For more than one hundred years, the event takes place in villages Vrhovlje and Šmartno. In the church in Vrhovlje you can attend the mass which is then followed by the festival in Šmartno. The celebration consists of a dance on a wooden floor as was the custom many years ago.

SPRING, NATURE & WINE
|
Association of wine producers from Medana, Plešivo and Ceglo “To je Medana” prepares a meeting with their business partners called “Nature, Spring and Wine”. Meeting is also open for visitors.

CONCERT OF THE BRDA CHOIRS

Concert of all choirs from the Brda region and the Brass Orchestra.

27. APRIL – DAY OF UPRISING AGAINST THE OCCUPATION

Celebration on the occasion of the Day of Uprising Against the Occupation.

BRDA & WINE – ŠMARTNO 2010
|
The event is intended to present high-quality Brda products – particularly wine, cuisine, tourism and cultural heritage in the Brda region in domestic and authentic environment. The location is not chosen randomly as the preserved architecture of the village with „žbatafur“ (kitchen extension with a hearth), „gank“ (balcony) and narrow streets – along with the appropriate decoration – conjures up a magical atmosphere which further emphasizes the quality of our products.

SVETI KRIŽ
|
Religious holiday on the day of Christ's Ascension in the village Kojsko. The central part of the event is the procession from the church of Mary's Assumption in Kojsko to the church of sv. Križ located on the hill above Kojsko, where a mass will be held.

HIKE SAN FLORIANO - BRDA

Traditional hike from Števerjan to Gonjače.

REBULA AND OLIVE OIL FESTIVAL
|
Višnjevik is known as the birthplace of Rebula. Here you can find numerous olive groves from which olive oil is produced. The olive oil festival is held on the first weekend after the 1st May. You will have a chance to taste and buy rebula and other varieties of wine, and also olive oil.

COMMEMORATION IN CEROVO AND PETERNEL
|
In villages Cerovo and Hruševlje, specifically at Peternel, a commemoration in the memory of fallen victims of the World War II is held.

CULTURAL EVENTS PRIOR TO THE CHERRY FESTIVAL

Various art exhibitions, extempore, concerts and market with typical products from the Brda region.

WINE DAY
|
On this day numerous wine producers open the doors to their wine cellars. You will be able to taste various wines and see different wine cellars. The event takes place over a number of years and each year attracts visitors from Slovenia, Italy, Austria and other countries.

CHERRY FESTIVAL
|
The festival takes place in June and attracts visitors from all over Slovenia and also Italy, Austria and Croatia. The main part of the festival is the procession, where each village presents itself with carriage on which they display various old habits and customs. This festival is the largest one in the Brda region.

CYCLING MARATHON
|
Cycling marathon starts in Ljubljana and ends at the Brda Wine Cellar.
|

CHERRY HIKE THROUGH THE BRDA HILLS
|
Traditional cherry hike through the Brda hills. Each year the organizers prepare a different path leading through various villages, vineyards and cherry plantations.

SVETI ROK
|
Organized by the village community Kozana on St. Rok's name day. The villagers prepare a rich programme with wine tasting, exhibitions, dance, etc.

DREAMS IN MEDANA – BOOK AND WINE FESTIVAL

In MEDANA you will be able to attend literary events, wine tastings, concerts,… In ŠMARTNO you will be able to listen to fairytales and children will be able to attend workshops.

FESTIVAL OF THE VILLAGE NEBLO

Held by the village community Neblo. Each year the villagers do their best to prepare a rich entertainment programme.

Held in Medana in October. Numerous artists gather here and in beautiful autumn colours gather new inspirations.

ST. MARTIN'S DAY
|
St. Martin's day is a popular event in the Brda region. Several entertainment events are held on this day. The main part of the event is the blessing of new wine.

ALOJZ GRADNIK DAYS
|
Cultural evenings held in castle Dobrovo in the second half of the November. They are dedicated to poet Alojz Gradnik who was born here.
